should i charge my cell phone turned on or off?
Motorola Talkabout manual says radios should be charged turned off to have a longer battery live. is it the same for cell phones?
Charge a phone while it is ON to keep the phone line "alive" -- assuming you expect to get calls, or want to make them.
The charging circuit in cell phones is smart enough to stop charging when the battery charging is complete, and Lithium batteries can be charged from a a 1/2 charge, or 3/4 charge state and still work fine. What used to kill batteries is overcharging using simple charging devices that didn't know when to stop charging the battery.
Also, get a spare battery and charge it up, and swap batteries occasionally. Then you'll have a backup if you do end up with no charge, and no charger handy.
