I have a 98 Ford Ranger with a 4.0L. I can't get cold air when I turn the temp control switch to "cold."
The switch under the hood that cuts off the flow of hot water doesn't work when I turn the temperature control switch to "cold." I have replaced the switch under the hood twice, but it acts like there's no vacuum to open and close it. If I move it by hand, the cold air will blow inside. Did I miss a step when I installed it, or is it as simple as hooking it up and letting it run?

Update 6/7/06, I checked all of my vaccum lines, and it still doesn't work. Anything else I could try? Thanks to James I for his advice.
Check all the vacuum lines that are attached to your climate control system.
