Side Markers Aren't Turn Signals Too on '97 Tracer?
I noticed that the side marker lights on the front, the ones that are part of the headlight housing, do not blink when I put on my turn signals. The bulbs are not burned out becaue they illuminute when the headlights are on. The only front turn signals are the ones mounted directly on the front of the car (between headlight and grille). This bothers me because anyone who is to the side of me or at least cannot see my front mounted signals don't realize I'm turning. However, I saw a same-generation Escort with it's turn signal on, and the side marker DID blink as a turn signal. Do I have the wrong bulbs in my side markers causing them not to blink, or did the earlier versions of the '97-'02 Escort/Tracer not have functioning front- side turn signals? It seems rather stupid and dangerous to me for the front-side marker lights to not function as turn signals on this car.
Since they don't blink they are more or less guide lights while you're turning. They ad a little lite in the direction you're turning so you can see a little more.
