Can someone explani the UHF radio frquency band?
VHF is listed as 30 Mhz to 300 Mhz however the Military uses 243.0 UHF as an emergency freq. How a can 243.0 be UHF if the VHF band is 30 to 300 Mhz?????
Technically, 243.0 MHz is in the VHF region of the radio spectrum.
However, the military radio band runs from 243 to 400 MHz and so
it is called the UHF aircraft band since it is all in one piece. This also
helps distinguish it from the civilian aircraft communications band,
which runs from 118 to 136 MHz and is called the VHF aircraft band.
