What frequency is best for my radio controlled air plane?

I an a Ham Radio operator and I have the privileges to transmit in the 6m(meter) range. 50mhz and 53mhz. I was wondering if you think that using one of the FQs this would eliminate all my interference issues? I am not sure this is in the FM band or not, so will it work with my planes FM rx and tx? right now I am using 72mhz. Do you know of a place were I could purchase one of these 6m crystals? And is there a difference between a receiving and transmitting crystal?

I know i asked alot but if you can only answer 1 that is still helpful.

There's a problem in trying to replace a 72mhz transmitter with a 50mhz one - it will probably fry the other parts of the circuit. If you thing about your electronic theory, the circuit is tuned for the frequency at which it operates. The other aspect is the antenna length, at 50mhz, the antenna will be a good bit longer. So, you'd have to end up retuning that circuit as well..
Best advice I'd have, would be to upgrade your r/c transmitter and receiver - there are certain ones that avoid alot of the issues you are talking about.
And think about it, 6m may not be the best place to try to run an r/c anyway - all you need for disaster is to be near someone working 6m while your rig is up in the air..
