Can you use an existing coaxial cable to plug into a Sky+ box ?
My friend has moved into a flat which has a communal tv aerial as well as a communal Sky dish. Each flat has one coax cable for the terrestial tv and one cable for Sky. He has a Sky+ box which requires two Sky cable feeds in order to get full use of the box and its features. As he lives in the top floor flat, he has the splitter boxes for both terrestial tv and Sky in his loft.
My question is this. If he unplugs the terrestial cable going to his flat from the terrestial splitter in his loft and plugs into the Sky spliiter, would this effectively give him a second Sky feed into his flat ?
I know he'd need to fit a new connector to each end of the terrestial cable so it can fit into the Sky splitter and the Sky+ box, but if he did this, would it work ?
I'm just not sure if the terrestial cable would carry the Sky signal.
