Motorola Repeater

how do i Program a repeater into a vhf 2 way radio that is set up for ham use?

i have a motorola gp 68 portable vhf radio and im trying to figure out how to program the repeater channel into it any help would be great
yes i am in the us and the radio is set up with different khz's which i have listed would you know which one i would need to use if my frequencies was 154.235?
where is the parameter transfer button located on the motorola gp 68?
the frquencey i listed is the one my fire department uses there is nothing in the prgraming that helps me any im not sure how to get to the repeater setup any ideas?

Ham radio does not have to be "type accepted" but you have to use it on frequencies you are licensed to operate on and 154.235 is just a little bit out of band, or shall I say a lot out of band.
There are a lot of guy's using these radios, just double check your programming before you use it..

If you are trying to set this up for the fire department frequency forget it right now, this radio is not going to be licensed by the department, or in any way under their license, you will get in trouble, eventually, just because you got on the fire department does not mean you can just go and buy a radio and put in in your car, sounds like fun but it ain't going to happen legally, there is a little more to it..
This is why I just don't explain right out how to do this, eventually it comes out that it is not going to be used in a legal way and do not want to get in the middle of that and risk my license, if you really need it they will give you a radio that is all set up and legal for you to use..
If you need this radio they will give it to you all programed and set up with repeater split and tone all set up, other wise you are looking for legal trouble..sorry..
