Can my radio transmit on different frequencies?
I've got a motorola sportbase radio device and I'm looking to build a ham antenna for it rather than buying a ham unit. Is this possible?
A new radio is too expensive for me... but I have this one from my dad and I'd like to use it. It's new though... not old.
The Sportsbase should work on the 2 meter (144-148MHz) or 70cm (432-440MHz) ham band as is depending on the model. See http://www.batlabs.com/sm50.html for decoding the model number and how to change the channel frequencies.
