Wondering if anyone here uses a ham radio. I just got one and have an Amtron 99 antenna outside and a Kenwood HF radio. I'm not sure if it is working correctly. I can't hear anybody on it. Anyone know why? Is it a hobby worth pursuing? Thanks

It is apparent from your question that you do NOT have an amateur license.
You can listen, but do NOT transmit without the appropriate license.
I know MANY HAM operators in Florida. With your equipment you should be able to hear SOMEBODY on at least 1 band almost any time.
I think it is, have been a HAM for over 40 years!!
