I need one by Thursday so I can listen to France vs Ireland as I won't be able to watch it, and I doubt it'd be on the radio in Australia. Any ideas?

Yes, there are many models but with a small rubber ducky antenna and variations in propagation you can't be assured to receive them. You didn't mention where you were which also has to be taken into account. Do a search for ICOM, KENWOOD,or Yaesu just to name a few brands that make them.Radio Shack also sells a couple very small receivers (grundig) that perform well.
