Any suggestions for a new paraglider pilot?
I am 16 years old and right on my birthday I got all my paperwork signed and got my recreational pilot permit (RPP) canada. I did my first solo on my 14th birthday and I have 60 hours in a cessna 172. Id like to be a commercial pilot as a career and on my 17th birthday im getting my PPL. anyways, in the mean time, I cant afford to recreationally fly a 172 that takes 8 gallons/hour so Id like to get into paragliding. I know you technicallydon'tt need a license but most club launch sites want you to have a rating. I already have an aeronautical radio license and ham (amateur) radio license which I know some paraglider pilots have for air to air and air to ground communications. Im intending to take a paragliding beginner course but is my RPP suitable?
Well. You could always avoid the club launch sites, I know that's what I would do. I honestly have no idea if your RPP would work for that, after all it's for a 172, not a paraglider.
