With Ham Radio, is it ok to roll up the excess coax cable from your antenna?
1. Outside I have about 10 feet of excess coax cable after connecting to the window type feed line of my G5RV antenna, I don't want to leave it on the ground in a mess, is it ok to roll it up and tie it off or will it cause problems?
2. Second, the antenna is in an inverted V and the feed line is supposed to hang 90 degrees but my antenna is so close to the ground that I have had to pull the feed line almost parallel to the ground towards the house to keep it from snagging someone walking in the back yard is that a problem? The radio tunes ok (less than 1-1 to 1.5-1) except for 20 meters where it is a little higher.

NO! Do not roll up excess coax using the G5RV. The G5RV is designed that you should not have any slack feed line. The coax that comes off the antenna is an important part of the antenna. The G5RV antenna is an over hyped antenna.
Question #2.
on the typical dipole, it does not make a LOT of difference on the feed line. It should come off at 90 degrees, but if you cant, that is OK too. The impedance is set by the drop of the elements. The Hertz Antenna is 75 ohms, until you drop the elements and you force it lower in impedance.
1:1 is a dream! anything under 3:1 is fine.
