How do i get my dog to go up stairs?
He is four years old and he never goes up the stairs. I've tried coaxing him up with a cookie, and he'll move his front feet up the stairs, but when it comes to his back feet having to move he stops and won't go any further. He goes up and down the four steps leading in and out of the house, but not these.
I try coaxing him up with treats, but once it comes to his back feet he just doesnt go any further

Is your stairs are all woods or carpeted? most of all dogs they refused to go up stairs because stairs looks shinny and slippery. when we had a carpeted stairs my dogs were easy to go up stairs but now we changed to wood stairs they refused to go up stairs. If your stairs are all carpeted then put some few his favorite treats on each steps and every time he go up each steps praise him, you need to go up together even though you put the treats on the stairs. the end of stairs you handed a treats to him and say good boy! try again, this time treats getting short as before getting smaller and smaller, you have to be close to him when he does it, walk with him up stairs. make sure he doesn't fall on the stairs or stripped.
