Hooking a DVD player to a computer monitor?
Been looking over the answers and a couple caught my interest. But require more information.
I have a 17" 15-pin male V7 computer monitor without built in speakers and a Toshiba recordable DVD player with HDMI and S-cable attachments.
Is it possible to link the 2 two with these components?

I'm not looking for home theatre quality, just something simple and reusing good hardware I have lying around.
That will NEVER work.
Those VGA-to-svideo adapter cables are intended for video card that have a specially-built VGA port capable of sending out an S-video signal. It will NOT work for any other purpose, and it will NEVER work for connecting an S-video signal source to a VGA monitor.
You want to connect an S-video source to a VGA monitor, you need a signal converter box that can translate S-video to VGA.
