GOOD/INEXPENSIVE CB ANTENNA?
I am looking for a good CB antenna. I have a handheld CB and a tabletop police scanner. They both require an antenna with a BNC connector. I purchased an adaptor from RadioShack that converts the female BNC connector on my cb and police scanner to a male rf connector. I tried to use that adaptor and connect a pair of rabbit ear antennas to my cb and then to my police scanner, but It didn't improve the signal much. I still have the Female BNC to Male RF connector adaptor. So I'm looking for an antenna with either a Female BNC connector or with a Female Rf connector.
All I plan on using my cb and police scanner for is to pick up/listen to people in my area.

I'm a bigger fan of the single radial antennas because they can be tuned. Once they're set up to work with your device, they work SO much better. (Ask the guy at Radio Shack how to tune an antenna... or better yet, go here: http://www.roadtripamerica.com/Equipment/How-to-Tune-a-C-B-Radio-Antenna.htm )
As far as the antenna is concerned, a simple Cobra HG A 1500 works nice. As will a Lil Wil. You can find both of them on Amazon.com.

They're both in the $25-30 range. You MIGHT need to get an adapter to use them with your BNC connector, but that shouldn't be hard to get. Radio Shack has those in stock all the time. (at least, mine does.) (And if it doesn't, there's always the internet.)
