Federal Model 55 Electric Horn - Replacement Capacitor?
I have a Federal model 55 electric resonating horn that has a burnt out capacitor. The capacitor is a "bathtub" type, and it reads:

I've spent a couple of solid hours trying to find a replacement, but I can't find one with those exact specs, and the corporation seems to only make conductor parts for electric trains now. Does anyone know where I could look to find one, or if there is another capacitor that will do the job?
Replacing the horn isn't an option. It is VERY expensive today

Of course! Go to the electronics parts store (eg Radio Schack, hardware store, etc.) and get a .25 microfarad x a thousand volts capacitor. If they give you something slightly different, take it. You should be down a buck, at best.
